FAQ

Short answers. The honest ones.

What is Koba?

Koba is an AI assistant for shared money. Text him in iMessage to split bills, scan receipts, track trips and spaces, and send the awkward reminder so you do not have to.

How does Koba work?

Add Koba to a chat, or text his number yourself. Tell him what happened: who paid, who was there, send a receipt photo. He does the math, keeps the ledger, and can nudge the right people.

Do my friends need Koba?

No. They can get a text from Koba and settle however they already pay. If they join, they see the same numbers in the same space.

Can I add Koba to a group chat?

Yes. That is the point. Koba lives where the group already talks, so you do not leave the conversation to open another app.

What can Koba track?

Shared expenses, receipt splits, trip and roommate spaces, who is settled, who still owes, and recurring costs like subscriptions when you tell Koba about them.

Does Koba connect to my bank?

Not right now. Koba does not hold, move, or touch your money. You pay however you already pay (Venmo, Interac, cash) and Koba keeps the record.

Is my financial information secure?

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with row-level access so only you and the people in a space can see it. We do not sell your information. Receipt images stay in access-controlled storage.

Can Koba scan receipts?

Yes. Send a photo in the chat. Koba reads the items and total. Extracted amounts can contain errors, so glance at them before you save.

What kinds of groups can I create?

Trips, apartments, couples, dinner groups, weekends, groceries, rent. Any shared space where people spend together and someone has to keep score.

How much does Koba cost?

Splitting is free, with unlimited spaces and expenses and no caps on what you can track. Koba never holds your money.
