Koba and your Google account
Optional, and separate from signing in
You can use Koba without connecting Google. If you choose to, you pick Gmail, Google Calendar or both on a Koba connection page and grant access on Google's own screen.
Gmail, read-only
Koba looks for receipts, subscription notices (renewals, price changes, trials, cancellations), refunds and bookings, the last 30 days first and then up to a year back. It turns them into your private email activity: a receipt you can add as an expense with a yes, a subscription it can keep up to date, a booking it can remember. It cannot send, change or delete your email. Mail that is not about money, a booking or a subscription is not kept. When commitments are on for your account, Koba also keeps appointments, deliveries, warranties, insurance renewals and school or work due dates: the date and a short note, and a private copy of that email. When automatic steps are on for your account, Koba can add a clearly paid, recent receipt or subscription charge, or stop tracking a subscription whose cancellation the email confirms, on its own, each with an undo.
Google Calendar
Koba adds the plans you make with it, and can add the dates of trips you set up in Koba, to your calendar and keeps them in step, and checks when you are busy so it can answer availability questions. It does not keep your other events. People in a space see only busy and free times, and only if you turn sharing on for that space.
Private to you
Nothing from your Google account goes to a space or group chat unless you tell Koba to share a specific detail. Koba sends relevant email content to OpenAI to read it; Koba does not use it to train AI models, does not sell it, and does not use it for advertising.
Disconnect and delete any time
Disconnect from the Branches screen in the app, on kobamoney.com/branches, or by texting Koba. Reading stops at once and access is revoked. You can also delete Koba's copies of the emails and details from that account; expenses and refunds you added stay.
The full detail is in the Privacy Policy. Koba's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
